Still want to make it yourself? Well here's how you do it!
What you'll need:
- 1 cup of unscented natural Epsom salts
- 3/4 cup of baking soda
- Essential oil of your choice
- Natural soap coloring (optional)
- A jar and lid that can be sealed tightly
- A cute scoop (optional)
Go run and grab that stuff, don't worry I'll wait for you right here!
Got it? Okay, we can now move onto the next step.
Now I'm warning you; this process may take a while. Are you ready?
Let's do it!
- First grab a baking sheet and lay some wax paper over it
- Next you'll need to measure out the salts and baking soda into a bowl and mix them together.
- Now spread them out flat onto the baking sheet
- Here comes the long part. Let it sit overnight; this helps to avoid future clumping.
- After your salts are totally dry from sitting overnight, drop them into a blender and blend it up until its a nice powder.
- Add your essential oil and blend it again to make sure the oil gets mixed into the salts very well.
- If you're adding color, add a few drops of the soap colorant (you can also use food coloring but it won't be as natural and it can sometimes cause staining on your skin in the bath if you use too much)
- Now let it sit for about five hours.
- Blend it again.
- Let it sit overnight.
- And blend it yet again.
- Now Seal it in the jar.
- Tie the scoop around the jar with some twine or ribbon and you're done! You've just made your very own bath salts, amazing job!
